 Revised: Pictures and videos of trains in Berlin and East Germany. The ship, the Rotterdam, docked in Warnermünde in formerly East Germany. We took a train to Berlin, arriving at the Berlin-Lichtenberg station. It was there that I saw the VT 175 on a siding adjacent to the station. Perhaps someone from Berlin could give some history to this train. I saw several other loks but the most interesting was when we were leaving Berlin from another former East Berling station, Berlin Gesundbrunnen station, where I saw a dingy and dirty BR 180 pulling the Berlin-Warsaw Express. It had shiny white cars but was litteraly without many passengers. Among the photos is a red e-lok I could not identify and need help with the writing on the lok and its class.

Revised:A number of videos and pictures of the Wuppertal Schwebebahn (hanging railroad). The videos were taken by me in November 2005 and the pictures were taken by Robert Frowenfeld in November 2004. The last four videos allow you to take a virtual ride in the cab of one of the trains. Your will travel a total of two stations back and forth.

Revised:A number of pictures of the my trip to Bingen (Rhein) in September 2005. My wife and I decided to cruise on the Rhine while staying in Landsthul so we took a train to Kaiserslautern where we changed for a train to the Bingen Hbf. The train was a new BR 643 (Click here to see my Brawa model of the very train to Bingen) and I got to ride in the cab all the way to Bingen. I spoke no German and the train driver spoke no English but we communicated very well. He pointed out sights to me along the way. He also pointed to various dials and LCD displays in the cab as they changed. What a great experience. You can get some a feel for riding in the cab by looking at the pictures. My one regret is the lack of video. Next time.

Pictures taken by me in November 2005 while in the Köln Hauptbahnhof (Hbf). Since it was a Saturday I didn't get to see any freight consists coming through. The photos after the pictures of the Cathedral were taken by Robert Frowenfeld in 2002. All the pictures show the wide variety of loks that come and go at the Köln Hbf.

Revised:Pictures of a trip to the museum in Pfarrkirchen, (which had moved) but proved to be an enjoyable trip since I road in the cab control car of a Class 628.2 railcar . The trip began in Munchen (Munich).
